How this all started for me.
In 2016 my youngest brother Padraig (he’s the baby of the family) went to Nepal to volunteer with an NGO for 5 months. Padraig worked in a remote part of Nepal rebuilding a school that had been destroyed in the devestating 2015 earthquake. The locals, especially the children were enthralled by this pale Irish person and nicknamed Padraig "ghost". When Padraig’s Nepalese visa expired he travelled around South East Asia on a motor bike for several months. Padraig came home in December 2016 and was planning to work until he started a degree course in International Development and Food Policy the following Autumn in University College Cork.
Padraig was very skinny when he got home, having had many bouts of food poisoning over the previous year and his condition continued to worsen as 2017 progressed. There were numerous trips to specialists and consultants throughout 2017 but he continued to get sicker, having to defer his college course for a year. Severe fatigue, joint pain, intestinal pain and brain fog were some of the more prominent symptoms but consultants were unable to find the cause.

Some consultants wrote Padraig off as depressed and prescription after prescription for very strong antibiotics just saw Padraig get worse and worse.

Padraig tested positive for Lyme disease and my mother heard of a new treatment for Lyme that was proving very successful. My parents and siblings were very determined to find a cure and Padraig went for Biomagnetic Pair Therapy treatment in June 2018.

Elaine Griffin (bmptwest@gmail.com) the BMPT therapist who treated Padraig found many pathogens in Padraig including Borelia (the bacteria that causes Lyme disease) plus the many coinfections that Lyme sufferers have due to a surpressed immune system. Padraig was sick between each session as the large die-off of numerous pathogens released toxins into his system. However, after a few sessions there were signs of improvement, the first for over a year, so much so that Padraig started in UCC in the Autumn of 2018.
As it happened Moises Goiz, the son of the BMPT creator Duran Goiz was conducting a training seminar in Dublin for a week in August 2018. This was the first time that BMPT was being taught outside of the Americas. Around 50 people travelled from Australia, Singapore, Europe and Ireland to be part of this pioneering event.

My mother, my aunt and I were three of these keen students to attend the first BMPT seminar.

The person who was responsible for organisng this event was Rob Renehan, the first BMPT practioner in Ireland. Rob’s brother David had Lyme disease and Rob traveled far and wide to get a cure for this crippling condition. This lead Rob to discover BMPT and it's founder Duran Goiz. Rob went to Mexico (the home of BMPT) and the US to get training so that he could help his brother David. Rob helped David recover and many more people both directly through his practice (www.bmptireland.com) and through his part in bringing the training to Ireland and many other parts of the world.
Having seen the way that BMPT had helped Padraig and others get back on the road to good health I had to be part of this new wave of therapists. I took part in the first week long intensive training period for Level 1 and continued my training and studying for the following year. I then took part in the Level 2 training in August 2019 (along with my mother and aunt), having successfully completed this we are all now qualified and accredited Level 2 Biomagnetic Pair Therapists,

I had studied Applied Biology for 2 years in GMIT (Galway RTC as it was then) and got an Honours Degree in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. I worked in Dubai with animals for 5 years and more recently in multinationals as an analyst.
I remained very interested in Biology and found BMPT an amazing and exciting new way to help both people and animals heal in a gentle and non-invasive way.

I started Biomagnetism Mayo so that I could play my part in continuing the good work of Duran Goiz and Rob Renehan and help others heal.

I have also trained as a Reiki Master and use this amazing therapy in my practice.
